This is the Ice Queen. This along with three other pieces won the Betsey Johnson Award at Tucson Fashion Week. This piece has exceptional craftsmanship and an amazing design. The metallic faux suede fabric dress/ tunic has a Romanesque quality to it as it hangs loosely off both shoulders and and gathers on the bias loosely around the waistline. It falls elegantly over the pleated pink organza skirt. The tunic has a cotton lining. The piece is showcased with the Ice Queen crown, a cow skull that I chiseled by hand to create a crown that fits snugly on the head as it is lined with a regular panama hat and faux fur for comfort and an icy finish. It is INSPIRED by my minds version of a Yaqui shaman headdress, and is not to be confused with an actual Yaqui headdress. This is purely my own creation, from my imagination.
The Model wore this as she drunk her magical elixir that released vapors into the air. The dress can be worn to any evening event and with the crown can be worn as a costume. Or perhaps you would like to showcase the crown as an art piece on its own. This piece dazzled the audience and Betsey Johnson at Tucson Fashion Week, and is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art. The tunic and skirt can fit sizes 4-10. The crown is adjustable for all head sizes. If you are interested in the crown or dress alone please contact me. The dress alone is $725.00 and the Ice Queen Crown is $400.00. This piece is inspired by Alexander McQueen and native Shamanic dress.
